  • Ingredients

    • 1 can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated classic pizza crust
    • 1 can (18 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy Parmesan basil cooking sauce
    • 2 cups shredded deli rotisserie chicken
    • 1/2 cup diced cooked ham
    • 4 slices (1 1/2 oz each) provolone cheese

    Garnishes, If Desired

    • Chopped seeded tomato
    • Chopped fresh or dried basil leaves
  • Directions

    1. Heat oven to 400°F. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray. Unroll pizza crust dough on cookie sheet; press into 12x10-inch rectangle.
    2. Reserve 3 tablespoons cooking sauce from can; set aside. In medium bowl, stir 3/4 cup of the sauce, the chicken and ham until well blended. Spread chicken mixture on one half of dough to within 1 inch of edges. Arrange cheese slices, slightly overlapping, over chicken mixture. Fold dough over chicken mixture and cheese; press edges to seal and then press edges again with tines of fork. Brush reserved 3 tablespoons sauce over dough. Cut 4 evenly spaced 1/2-inch slits in dough.
    3. Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes. Meanwhile, heat remaining sauce until hot. Cut sandwich into 4 pieces to serve. Top each sandwich with tomato and basil. Serve with sauce as dipping sauce.

I used a pie crust that I had left over from making pies, and it worked wonderfully!

My family loved this one! Huge Hit! Very easy, very yummy! Turned out just like the picture. Im trying a lot of the Recipe starters and some are hits, this one, and some are misses, pumpkin mac and cheese! The basil parmesan cheese sauce is good, you smell the basil the minute you open the can! I can't wait to try the next one!

While this was a good recipe, my family really enjoyed it. Recipe was very easy and followed the it to a T. The recipe totally needs to be eaten with a fork because the meat mixture was just a tad heavy for the breading & was a bit runny. But was still delish and had good flavor. While simple, the negative point to make is, No extra sauce really was needed because the sauce never thickened up in the baking process and the other half of the can could be used on another recipe. Will make again w/modifications.

Very easy recipe (I should know, I have a newborn!). It tasted a lot like chicken pot pie or a calzone with white sauce. Next time I would add peas or broccoli. This is a kid-friendly recipe.

I used this recipe as a starting point because I thought it sounded good but didn't have the necessary ingredients on-hand. I browned and seasoned some ground beef, drained, then simmered it with the Fire-Roasted sauce. I think prepped the crust as specified in the recipe above, added my ground beef mixture, topped with cheddar cheese, and sealed the crust. I used the leftover sauce for dipping and only sprinkled the top of the dough with parmesan cheese before baking as directed above. The results were delicious!
