  • Ingredients

    • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
    • 1/4 cup butter, melted
    • 1 can (18 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy Parmesan basil cooking sauce
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 2/3 cup Progresso® Italian style panko crispy bread crumbs
    • 2/3 cup finely shredded Parmesan or Asiago cheese
    • Hot cooked pasta or mashed potatoes, if desired

    Garnishes, If Desired

    • Additional shredded Parmesan or Asiago cheese
    • Chopped fresh basil or parsley
  • Directions

    1. Heat oven to 400°F. Line cookie sheet with foil; spray with cooking spray. Between pieces of plastic wrap or waxed paper, place each chicken breast smooth side down; gently pound with flat side of meat mallet or rolling pin until about 1/2 inch thick. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper to taste.
    2. In shallow dish, mix butter, 3 tablespoons of the cooking sauce and the garlic powder. In another shallow dish, mix bread crumbs and cheese. Dip chicken into butter mixture, then dip into bread crumb mixture to coat. Place on cookie sheet.
    3. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, turning once, until juice of chicken is clear when center of thickest part is cut (at least 165°F) and coating is golden brown. Meanwhile, heat remaining sauce until hot. Serve chicken with pasta and sauce. Sprinkle with additional cheese and basil.

I felt it was bland, and not worth the money. Won't buy the sauce again, but can make it with my own sauce cheaper and tastier

this was a very easy and good dish - i really liked the flavor of the sauce! at the end i used fresh basil and shredded parmesan really gave it a nice touch! the only issue i had was when coating the chicken in the butter mixture the last breast for some reason the sauce got thicker and it was harder to make stick to it (but i pasted it on lol) and when in the oven the crust is not as crispy as it looks in the picture - parts of my crust were soggy and when i went to flip it over like the directions said to do once part of the breading came off - either way it was still good just have to figure out why that happens - all my measurements were spot on and i used the foil and cooking spray - oh well..... but definitely will make this dish again!

The chicken turned out pretty good, flavor was nice. I was not impressed with the sauce when served with noodles, it didnt have much flavor. I dont feel that it is worth the money.

use a larger sheet of foil, crumple it up, allows heat to get to the underside of the chicken to cook better and not get soggy on the bottom. Let my cooked noodles set a while in the heated sauce to absorb more flavor. Love these Recipe Starters.

This turned out well! After dredging in the sauce, i let the chicken sit in the fridge for 15min so the mixture sticks to the chicken. Smells GREAT while cooking too.
